What happens at this event?

This 5-week term carries us gently from February into March, as winter begins to loosen its grip and the first hints of spring start to show. Let’s echo the seasons with our energy and momentum by continuing to steadily build up our strength and confidence. Yoga to awaken sleepy muscles, to strengthen from the inside out, and to steady busy minds. We’ll move with purpose, creating resilience in body and mind, while still weaving in space to exhale and reset your nervous system. Expect thoughtful sequences that help you feel strong and capable, improve balance and stability…

FAQ's
I haven’t done any yoga before. Will your classes be suitable for me?
My Yoga for All classes are suitable for a wide range of people, including beginners and those with more experience. You don’t need to be flexible or have done yoga before — the emphasis is on moving in a way that feels right for your body. All poses are taught with options, and props are always available and encouraged, so you can adapt the practice to suit how you’re feeling on the day. You’ll be invited to listen to your body and choose what supports you, rather than pushing or forcing anything. The main requirement is that you’re comfortable getting down to and up from a mat. If this isn’t suitable for you, I also offer chair-based yoga classes, which provide the same mindful approach in a fully supported, seated format.
Do I need to bring anything?
If you have a yoga/ exercise mat you can bring, that is very helpful. However I do have some with me that you can borrow. I also bring some blocks and blankets that you can borrow for support. If you have any props that you usually use in your practice, you are welcome to bring them along. A cushion is often helpful for relaxation at the end. Wear comfortable clothing and maybe bring some water if it is particularly warm.
Where can I park?
There is free parking at all of the venues. At Willington Village Hall and Great Barford Village Hall there are large car parks. At Sheerhatch School in Cople, there are some parking spaces opposite, in front of the church and normally plenty of space on the road. At Moggerhanger Village Hall you can either park in front of the hall or around the back in the car park.
I have specific aches and pains. How can I let you know?
When booking, please fill out the online form to tell me about any injuries or issues you might have. It is useful to know this so that I can ensure that all the movements we do can be adapted to suit every person taking part. If you missed this step, just contact me in the Contact tab of the booking page and let me know.
Is yoga suitable during pregnancy?
Yes, yoga can be very beneficial during pregnancy as it is good to keep up some exercise, especially gentle mobility and stretching throughout to keep you in good physical shape ready for labour and being a parent! It is also beneficial to take time for yourself to be still, present and calm, connecting with your baby and everything that your body is going through. Yoga can help decrease feelings of stress, depression, and anxiety, in addition to relieving pain or discomfort that comes in those last weeks of pregnancy. There are some movements that are not recommended for pregnant people, especially those that involve balancing or inversions. I will suggest adaptations that you can do as an alternative. Take a bit more time moving between poses, rather than jumping and don’t push yourself too hard. If you would like more advice on this, please do not hesitate to ask me.

Emma’s classes are so enjoyable. She takes time beforehand to set a relaxed, warm and welcoming place. The movements are not rushed and are at a good pace. She offers many options to suit everyone’s abilities, from advanced to beginners, so you don’t feel uncomfortable in a pose and she takes notice of how we are moving. She has all the equipment you need and the bonus mini massage at the end for those who want it is a delight. My body always feels more mobile and stronger when I leave the session and my mind a lot calmer. Definitely worth it.
